CHM-1400 6-Roll Slitter for 38gsm Silicone Release Paper: 83 Cuts/Min, Custom Size 874×885mm

2026.11.06 3

Silicone release paper is far trickier to convert than ordinary copy paper or kraft paper. At just 38gsm, this thin, silicone-coated liner is delicate. Too much tension and it stretches or tears; unstable cutting leaves fuzzy edges that ruin its release surface. Many converters struggle with consistent output when they run this material, especially when they need multiple rolls and fixed custom sheet sizes for label, adhesive tape and packaging customers. This is exactly where our CHM-1400 slitter rewinder delivers reliable results.

For this customer project, we configured the CHM-1400 for six-roll simultaneous production. The target running speed is set at 83 cuts per minute, with finished sheets sized at 874 mm × 885 mm. This is not a generic setup pulled from our standard catalogue. We tuned the machine’s tension, knife gap and rewinding profile specifically around the properties of 38gsm silicone release paper. It is a practical, tailor-made solution built around one customer’s real order requirements.

The biggest challenge with thin release paper is protecting the silicone coating. Once the silicon layer gets scratched, rubbed or damaged during slitting, the liner will not separate cleanly from adhesive products downstream. Scrap rates jump, and your end buyer rejects the batch. Our CHM-1400 uses smooth, low-friction guide rollers and closed-loop servo tension control. It keeps steady pull across the web, so the paper moves through the cutting zone without snaking, wrinkling or over-stretching. Even at 83 cuts per minute, the machine maintains gentle, consistent tension suited to this ultra-light substrate.

Precision cutting is another core requirement for this run. The customer needs every finished sheet to hold tight to 874 × 885 mm dimensions. Minor variation is not acceptable for label converting lines. The rotary knife assembly on the CHM-1400 holds its calibration well through long runs. It produces clean, burr-free edges without tearing the thin paper or scraping the silicone coating. Every sheet comes off the stacker with uniform size and intact release surface, ready for the next process without extra inspection or rework.

Running six rolls at once directly boosts throughput for release paper converters. Instead of running narrow jobs one by one, this 6-run layout lets the customer split the jumbo parent roll into six finished rolls or sheets in one pass. Changeover still takes careful adjustment for sensitive silicone paper, but once the parameters are locked in, the line runs steadily for hours. This layout helps mid-size converting shops balance output and flexibility, especially when they mix release paper orders alongside other paper grades.

We know that many converters buy slitter equipment expecting it to handle everything, only to find thin silicone paper exposes weak points in cheap machines. Vibration, unstable rewinding, poor edge quality and high waste are common complaints. The CHM-1400 was built to handle these sensitive materials, not just thick board or standard A4 paper. We test each custom setup before shipment, matching speed, roll count and dimension to the customer’s actual material. That hands-on test work is how we avoid surprises once the machine lands at their factory.

This 38gsm silicone release paper case shows our approach clearly: we do not sell machines as off-the-shelf boxes. We deliver converting solutions. If your workshop regularly processes release liners, greaseproof paper or other thin coated papers, you know how much a reliable slitter can reduce stress and waste. Whether you need 6-run configurations, custom sheet sizes, or stable speed for low-gsm material, the CHM-1400 can be adjusted to fit your product list.

If you are facing trouble running thin silicone release paper, or you need a slitter that can hold tight tolerances on custom sheet sizes, talk to our team. We can review your material, target speed and finished dimensions, and build a setup that matches your production goals.
